Artist-Led BYOB Workshops

Artist-led workshops at AMO invite adults ages 18+ to learn or expand their knowledge of specific art forms, techniques, and crafts from professional artists in our community. Come forge new connections, explore the incredible value of creative expression, and learn from experienced artists at The Art Makers Outpost.

MUST BE 21+ to BYOB or CONSUME ALCOHOL

Jan. 14 Maggie Leininger- Recycled Weaving-$50

Maggie will lead a workshop where participants can cut and weave fabric collages which they will then be able to sew onto journals which maggie will provide 

Jan. 28 Aaron Storm- Hand Spinning Yarn*-$75

This intro to hand spinning workshop will familiarize participants with the history of hand spinning and will teach them how to spin their very own yarn on drop spindles.  This workshop feeds into the second workshop on Feb 25th where participants will learn to hand spin their yarn into cloth

Feb. 11 Susan Keats- Hand Painted Metal Charm Jewelry -$50

Susan will guide participants as they paint on small charms which they will then be able to attach to ball chains to wear as jewelry.

Feb. 25 Aaron Storm - Hand Spinning 2 Creating Cloth **-$75

In the second iteration of Aaron’s hand-spinning workshop, Aaron will guide participants in learning the double-ply technique. Participants will learn to create cloth from the material they’ve spun

March 11 Anna Soltys- Mosasic Boxes & Wall Hangings-$50

Here is a chance to learn the in's and out's of creating your own piece with professional mosaic artist Anna Soltys. In this class you will learn the basics of tile, adhesive, tools and application. This beginners workshop will allow you to create your own mosaic and acquire the knowledge to create an infinite amount of pieces in your own home. 

March 18 Aaron Storm- Indigo Dyeing- $75

Aaron will guide participants as they create their own hand-dyed masterpiece

April 29 Janara Banks- $50

Janara will guide participants in making unique incredible hand-crafted, lightweight, leather jewelry

May 6 Fuschia Winston-Rodriguez & Val Kahan- $50

Val & Fuschia will guide you as you stamp and print posters, wall hangings & tshirts with a variety of community centered & social justice messaged recycled stamps with archival ink
